Culture shock

Coming to the residential property market after years on Wall Street is a definite shock. We’re used to almost instantaneous execution, a high level of transparency, principles like “my word is my bond”, etc. We had to learn to adapt. Transactions take months, transparency is rare, principles are, sadly often enough, “flexible”. But we have adapted - not always as quickly as we had wanted to, admittedly - and we retain the conviction - a conviction our clients will benefit from - that at least some practices and processes regarded as standard on Wall Street can be imported into the residential market. If we didn’t think so, we wouldn’t have founded Baynard & Bedford in the first place! Now we can mitigate that shock for our next-step clients, while our other clients can benefit from the approaches we bring to the market.
